Meet Dr. Drake Exstrom

Dr. Drake is a Los Angeles native that has lived and surfed all over California, but now calls North County, San Diego his home. After completing dental school in San Francisco and his surgical residency training at Highland Hospital in Oakland, Dr. Drake is trained in broad scope Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He mainly focuses on wisdom teeth extractions and dental implant surgery, but also includes maxillofacial trauma, TMJ, and orthognathic jaw surgery. He found his love for community service while serving a two-year mission for his church where he also learned to speak fluent Spanish.

After taking over Dr. Ted Wassel’s oral surgery practice in 2024 he has strived to maintain the tradition of excellent surgical care that Dr. Wassel established over the last 30 years. Dr. Drake’s surgical support team are there to treat every patient as family by achieving comfortable and painless treatment with the goal of a restoring healthy facial appearances and smiles.
